In Singapore, the botanical name of this rare native plant was often stated as Sonerila heterostemon. A search with this name in the Plants of the World Online website in December 2023 did not yield any result. The closest was Sonerila heterostema Naudin, a synonym of Sonerila obliqua. In 1982, a publication in the Gardens' Bulletin Singapore used the name Sonerila heterostemon Naud. [1]
